Operating statement

The operating statement, built from records you already keep.

A lease operating statement shows what a lease earned and spent in a period and what each interest owner nets from it. In WellsManager the statement is a report over sales, well costs, and stakes, not a document someone assembles by hand.

Per investor, per period

Pick the investor and the period. The statement lists each lease with its net income, sums the subtotal, carries any unpaid previous balance, and shows the total.

→ Any date range
→ Lease-level lines
→ Previous balance carried

Revenue and costs from the same wells

Sales recorded by tank and costs booked by well feed the statement through each investor's net revenue and expense interest. Nothing is re-entered.

→ Sales by tank
→ Costs with invoices
→ Decimal interests per well

Reconciliation and audit trail

Every line traces to a sale, a cost, or a stake, and notes on the records explain the exceptions. Flagged production months are visible before the statement goes out.

→ Line-level traceability
→ Notes on exceptions
→ Flagged months surfaced

Share it or ask for it

Investors read their own statement in the portal. Staff pull it from the dashboard, export it, or ask Claude for a period total over the AI connector.

→ Investor portal
→ Spreadsheet export
→ Operating statement over MCP
What it is not

The statement is not an audited financial and not a severance tax filing. It is the operational statement operators send partners, produced from the records WellsManager keeps.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What is a lease operating statement?

A period statement of a lease's revenue, operating expenses, and net income, usually broken out for each interest owner.

Can I run it for a board or a bank?

Yes. Run it per investor and period, export it, and attach it to the package. The detail per lease is on the statement.

What if a sale was recorded late?

Record it with its production date. The statement is calculated when you run it, so a late entry shows in the right period.

Does it include gas?

Sales carry a product type, so gas sales recorded by tank flow into the statement the same way oil does.
